FULLER CRAFT MUSEUM MEMBERS EXHIBITION Nov. 17, 2007 - March 3, 2008 Fuller Craft Museum for more information: YUNOMIS AT AKAR Opens online March 21, 2008 This is AKAR Gallery's second annual invitational show of yunomis, the traditional Japanese cup made for everyday tea drinking, taller and more robust than those used in tea ceremonies. This year the show will be presented entirely online; many of the cups sold within minutes of last year's opening. AKAR for more information: LA MESA March 19-22, 2008 Santa Fe Clay has invited 200 potters to present their individual takes on the traditional place-setting for this annual show, coinciding with the NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts) annual convention in Pittsburgh. Lawrence Convention Center for more information: CRAFTBOSTON March 28-30, 2008 The premier juried exhibition and sale of contemporary craft in New England. The show features the work of 175 artists, plus work by emerging artists from leading schools and universities, an artist mentor program, a book seller, a lecture series, tours for guests who are visually impaired, and informational booths promoting non-profit craft organizations. The event is organized by the Society of Arts and Crafts, Boston's leading non-profit craft organization. Seaport World Trade Center for more information: FIRING PARTNERS: DOG BAR POTTERY May 17 - June 29, 2008 A group show of work by potters and artists who are firing partners at Sam Taylor's Dog Bar Pottery in Westhampton, MA. The work will include pots by Sam, Hayne, and Tom White, plus claywork, drawings and paintings by Maine artists Rob and Tracy Logan, and a documentary photo installation by Howard Korn. [The show] includes teapots both traditional and contemporary, functional and conceptual, whimsical and serious, in a variety of media."
